When WorkStrip obscures the frontmost document window, it will automatically shrink out of the way. When you close the window, or move it, WorkStrip zooms back out, ready for use.

If you use a file repeatedly, you can "Bookmark" it. That file is then shown in the "Bookmarked Items" menu, and will remain in the menu until the bookmark is removed.
